UNIDENTIFIED CAMERAMAN WITH A BELL & HOWELL
2709 pre-1920
Unidentified cameraman behind a Bell & Howell 2709
camera, mounted on a Bell & Howell tripod.
The original Bell & Howell mask box, the tripod's leg architecture and
the four-hole magazine pulleys, are all indicative of the pre-1920 era.
Early Bell & Howell components such as these are very
rare today. With the introduction of the
Mitchell Standard 35mm, Mitchell's viewfinders and matte boxes were more versatile
and easier to use than Bell & Howell's.
The majority of 2709 owners replaced their original equipment with Mitchell
matte boxes and viewfinders.
As with anything or anyone on this website marked "unidentified",
